View HoursWe are pleased to offer several self-guided tour options for Lake View Cemetery visitors! These include themed audio tours, walking tours or driving tours. Please see below for details.
Lake View developed three thematic interactive tours you can play from your smartphone while at the cemetery or from your computer while in the comfort of your own home. When used at Lake View, each tour is location-aware, providing route guidance, 3D panoramas and other visual information. We encourage you to listen, learn, and visit each stop on the tours!
Groups of 9 or fewer planning a self-guided walking tour are welcome, free of charge, during our normal hours of operation.
While you are not required to schedule your group of 9 or fewer, we can provide a free map for each participant and companion materials for the facilitator when you plan ahead. If you wish to use a digital map for your walking tour, click here.
Self-guided tours have access to the cemetery and free admission to the James A. Garfield Memorial and Wade Memorial Chapel during normal buildings hours.
Popular starting places include the James A. Garfield Memorial, the Wade Memorial Chapel, the Community Mausoleum, our Staff Offices or Daffodil Hall.
Lake View's paved and well-maintained roads allow for a leisurely driving tour of the grounds year-round. Once inside the Euclid Avenue or Mayfield Gates, follow signs to different areas of Lake View.
Be sure to drive by the James A. Garfield Memorial, the Wade Memorial Chapel, and other popular points of interest. Feel free to park, get out and explore on foot wherever you like.
Not only is Lake View one of the nation’s most beautiful historic cemeteries, it is also a certified Level 2 Arboretum. We hope you take special note of our wide variety of trees and shrubs. We’re grateful when visitors and families financially support our efforts to preserve our grounds.
Parking is available along the road in most areas, but please keep all four wheels of your vehicle on the pavement at all times.
