Preserving Our Trees

Fundraising Goal: $1,000,000

Our garden cemetery is an arboretum, home to our famous daffodils, glorious wildflowers and shrubs, and a tree canopy comprised of more than 10,000 trees, including seven Moses Cleaveland trees, said to have been growing here when the city's founder landed on the shore of the Cuyahoga River.

Through a 2016 study with Davey Tree Resource Group, it was recommended that tree preservation begin with a phased approach.

There are 800 trees in immediate need and $1M the first year would help us begin our work on:

• Tree pruning
• Deep root fertilization
• Cabling
• Tree removal
• Planting of new trees
