Wade Chapel Wedding Policies
The Jeptha H. Wade Memorial Chapel provides a unique and breathtaking setting for an intimate wedding, allowing your guests to enjoy one of Cleveland’s finest outdoor museums and arboretums. For questions or reservations, please contact Robin Laughlin, Director of Special Events, at (216) 453-0954 or email@example.com.
Weddings may be scheduled from April through mid-November, seven days a week, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. When selecting a date, please keep in mind that the Chapel is not air-conditioned. Please note that the Cemetery will not be scheduling outside events over Memorial Day weekend.
For the safety of all guests, Lake View Cemetery’s policies dictate that weddings are to conclude by 4:00 p.m.
The Chapel may be rented for $1,000.00, which includes one hour for rehearsal and two hours the day of the ceremony.
A security deposit is required when booking your date, with the balance due no later than
30 days prior to the ceremony.
The refundable portion of your deposit will be returned if a date is cancelled within 60 days of the reservation.
Refunds after 60 days are at the discretion of Lake View Cemetery.
Wade Chapel is able to hold 60 people comfortably.
Parking is available in a paved lot, adjacent to the Chapel, which will hold six cars; guests may also park at the base of each section around the Chapel.
Entrance to the Chapel is gained up four short steps to the front door, and is also handicapped- accessible via ramp.
Unfortunately, neither dressing rooms nor restroom facilities are available in the Chapel.
Guests may use the restrooms at the Community Mausoleum; the Cemetery office during business hours; either of the Division work areas; or the Garfield Monument during its regular hours.
Decorations may not be attached to the Chapel walls doors, altar rails, or pews. Please note that decorating and removal will need to be accomplished during the three hour rental period.
Because of the fragile and priceless nature of the materials used to construct Wade Chapel, a traditional, white unity candle is the only candle light than can be used.
Two electrical outlets are available along the eastern wall of the Chapel.
Petals or other items may not be strewn inside of Wade Chapel; nor may rice, birdseed, or confetti be thrown out side of the Chapel or anywhere on the grounds.
Smoking and eating are strictly prohibited in the Chapel; alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere on the Cemetery grounds.
We ask that guests refrain from honking their car horns as they leave, keeping in mind that people may be visiting a loved one’s grave or a funeral may be taking place.
Both photography and videotaping are permitted inside of the Chapel during the 3 hour rental period.
Advance permission must be gained to take photos on the Cemetery grounds. Permission may be granted, or rescinded, after review of the daily burial schedule.
As a general rule, photos may not be taken inside of the President James A. Garfield Monument.
Lake View Cemetery will provide, at no additional cost, one employee to attend to Chapel maintenance. Attendants are also interpretive guides, able to answer questions about the Cemetery and the Chapel’s history and design.
Lessees shall accept sole responsibility in ensuring that use of the Chapel is done in a safe and legal manner. Neither the Lake View Cemetery Foundation nor Cemetery Association is responsible for damage or loss of any rented equipment, personal possessions, or other valuables, left at an event.
We thank you for your inquiry, and invite you to visit the Chapel; open seven days a week, from April 1st through November 19th, 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
