Lake View Cemetery offers a diverse year-round schedule of educational and cultural events. All walking tours, unless otherwise noted, start at the Garfield Monument. To make your reservations, call (216) 421-2665. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

HORTICULTURAL WALKING TOUR  
Saturday, February 20, 2010 
10:00 AM - Noon

Our winter horticulture tour will focus on landscape elements that can only be seen during the dormant season. We’ll examine the texture and form of trees from distant and close up views; seek out vistas concealed by foliage during the growing season; all in addition to observing signs of natural life that gives evidence of its existence when the ground is covered in snow. Walk fee is $6.00, pre-paid registration required.


OWL PROWL  
Friday, March 19, 2010 
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Join Lake View and The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes as we discuss the habitats of owls, while searching for their signs and sounds. Walk fee is $6.00, pre-paid registration required.


OPENING DAY - GARFIELD MONUMENT AND WADE CHAPEL  
Thursday, April 01, 2010 
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The President James A. Garfield and Wade Memorial Chapel will open for the season today. Both buildings are open 7 days per week, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and have an interpretive guide to give presentations and answer questions. The buildings will remain open through November 19th, the President's Birthday.

HORTICULTURAL WALKING TOUR

Today a horticultural landmark, Lake View Cemetery was developed in 1869 to be a garden cemetery. Dave Gressley, our Horticulturalist, will discuss the incredible variety of blooming trees, plants and shrubs that make us an "outdoor museum and arboretum." Walk fee is $6.00, pre-paid registration required.


You can arrange a tour led by a volunteer docent -
normally scheduled April through October

A typical walking tour is 1½ hours and includes the Garfield Monument and Wade Chapel. Groups must have a minimum of 12 people and be prepared to walk for the entire tour. There is no cost for the tour - however donations to The Lake View Cemetery Foundation are appreciated. (email link) For planning purposes, please contact our Community Relations department at least two weeks prior to your desired tour date.

GROUP BUS TOURS
You may arrange a bus tour (your own arrangements) and we will supply a volunteer docent to guide your group for a 1½-hour tour. There is no cost for the tour; however, donations to The Lake View Cemetery Foundation would be appreciated.

SELF GUIDED AUDIO TOUR
If you would rather go at your own pace, just pick up a cassette or CD at the office just inside the Euclid Avenue entrance to direct you on a self-guided tour, which includes stops at Wade Chapel and the Garfield Monument. Buildings are open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, during April through October. A RENTAL fee of $5.00 is required for either a cassette or CD.

SUNDAY LOLLY THE TROLLEY TOURS
From June 28th - September 6th (except for July 5th), Lake View Cemetery will conduct a 1 hour guided tour of historic Lake View Cemetery, aboard Lolly the Trolley, with an additional 15 minute stop at the exquisite Wade Chapel. The Garfield Monument may be visited before or after the trolley tour. The tour starts at 1:00 p.m. behind the Garfield Monument. Cost is $7.00 per person.
Reservations required — limited seating.
